Start.me, a personalized and integrated bookmarking service. Officially confirmed that they’ll be launching dedicated App for Android and iOS later this year.
After acquiring social bookmarking site, Favoor and with the registered users of more than 450,000 users. Start.me is now all set to enter into Mobile space. Recently they’ve changed their Web UI as well. So, after asking about this they told us –
We are planning to launch native mobile apps for Android and iOS later this year.
The native apps will have all of the core functionality of start.me, but in a more intuitive format designed for mobile devices.
I’ve been using their service for 3 months (free version) and aside from their “business and Education premium packs”. There is almost no-ads on the page (except at the extreme bottom). So I asked their plans to generate revenue from Mobile App
In terms of revenue stream: we will soon employ a freemium model.
People can (continue) to use the site for free with a minor advertisement at the bottom.
Or pay a small monthly fee for a complete ad-free experience.
The native apps that we’ll provide will be free in itself, but with similar freemium model applied.
A bold move from the startup since most of the traffic is now shifted to Mobile. I’ll definitely download the app. I mean it will be awesome to access bookmarks on mobile, that for free and minimum distraction.
